How do I determine the correct size to order?

We offer a sizing chart on every product page which is customized for that particular item. If you are not sure which size to purchase we recommend ordering the larger size and adjust the costume if needed to make it fit. Costumes tend to run small and most costumes are unable to be adjusted when they are too small. The measurements on the size charts are for the person wearing the costume, these are NOT the measurements of the costume itself. Please CLICK HERE for a general size chart.

How do site offers and promotions work?

If you receive a valid site offer or promotion code, simply enter the code in at the bottom of the check-out page, once you are ready to order. Shipping offers and discounts are valid within the 48 contiguous United States and applies to ground shipping only. These offers are not available on previously placed orders. Only one promotion code may be used per order.

What do I do if there is a problem with my order?

If your order is put on hold we will send you an email alerting you to its status. For any other concerns please contact us at 877-800-6897, you can also email us at CustomerService@OfficialCostumes.com.

How do I know if an item is in stock?

We use real-time inventory which means if you can add the item to your shopping cart then the item is in stock and ready to be shipped. All of our orders ship the same business day as long as the order is shipped by 1 PM central time.

If an item is out of stock, am I allowed to purchase this item by placing a back order?

No, you cannot but may sign up to receive an email on the product page when the item is in stock. We do not currently accept orders for items that are out of stock.

 

How do I know if my order has been confirmed and received?

As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email immediately. We will send you a second email with a tracking number once your order has been shipped. You may contact us at CustomerService@OfficialCostumes.com or you can call us at 877-800-6897 to check to see if we received your order.

Can I buy from OfficialCostumes.com by phone or an alternative method?

Our website is safe and secure. We will provide you with the most advanced and secure shopping experience possible which includes Secure Socket Layer (SSL) 128-bit encryption for transmitting your payment information and our site is compliant with the Cardholder Information Security Program developed by Visa and MasterCard.

How do I cancel or make changes to my order?

*Please note that during the month of October that cancellation requests are not accepted.

Please note that our goal is to ship your order immediately and we have set up our system to automatically process your order as quickly as possible. We will make every attempt to cancel or change your order but will NOT guarantee that your change will be made. If an error is made and we are unable to stop your order, we need you to receive the order and return it for a refund. We are unable to refund your cost of shipping and handling if you decide that you do not want an order after it has been placed and sent to the warehouse for processing. How do I figure out the pricing and availability?

Our website displays the most current information available regarding pricing and availability of items. We use real-time inventory thus if you can add the item to your shopping cart then the item is in stock and ready to be shipped.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and PayPal.

What taxes will I have to pay?

We only charge sales tax if your order is shipped to Minnesota.

If I place my order today, when will I receive it?

All orders taken after 1pm on Friday, December 15 through Wednesday, December 20 and requesting ground shipping, will ship by Thursday, December 21.  Expedited shipping orders will ship same day.  We will be closed to observe the holidays on Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1.  Orders will ship when we reopen.

The time it takes for you to receive your order depends on where you live and what shipping method you select.


Please remember the following information regarding shipping time:

  • The day of your order does not count as a shipping day**
  • Our shipping carriers do not count Saturday or Sunday as delivery days**
  • Our shipping carriers do not deliver on Saturday or Sunday**

How are shipping charges determined? 

Shipping charges are determined by the weight of items you order, the shipping method you select and your location. To receive immediate estimated shipping charges please add the items to your cart and go to the bottom of the checkout page enter your zip code and hit apply.

How is Sales and Use Tax Handled

 

Sales and use tax will be added to all orders delivered to Colorado, Washington, and Minnesota.

Official Costumes is not required to and does not collect sales tax on orders placed in Kentucky, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and Puerto Rico. However, orders delivered to these states will be subject to sales or use tax, unless the purchase is specifically exempt. Orders placed via Internet, by catalog, or by other remote means are not automatically exempt from sales or use tax. State law requires that a consumer’s sales or use tax be paid annually on the appropriate tax forms.

If your total purchases with us for delivery to Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Vermont, or Rhode Island total an amount over a threshold determined by these states or territories, we will send you an annual purchase summary by the following year to help you accurately file your use tax returns.

Please note that we are required by law to provide the states of Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, and Vermont, and the territory of Puerto Rico with an annual statement that includes your name, billing address, shipping address, and the total dollar amount of your purchases. No other details of your purchases will be included on the statement.
